  • SELA 72.1 - General De Gaulle Drainage Canal

    Location: Algiers, LA

    Highlight: Project was completed 2 years and 4 months ahead of schedule.

    Major Features of Work: 92,503 LF 14”X14” Concrete Piles, TRS system – 4036’ LF of PZ26x70’ and Bracing, 20,001 CY of 43 LF wide Canal Flume, Pile Supported SFM and Water Line Crossings and Tie-ins, and 15” to 122”x78” Storm drainage systems.

  • NOV-09 St. Jude to City Price Levee

    Contract Price: $33.6 Million

    Completion Date: February 2023

    Location: Port Sulphur, LA

    Major Features of Work: 519,000 CY Net Section of Compacted Embankment Material, 3,750 LF of Deep Soil Mixed Columns, 7,600 SQ of Concrete Slope Paving, 18,000 SY of Geotextile Fabric, 3,300 CY of Surfacing, 4,000 LF of Drainage Ditch Excavation, and 72 AC of Turf Establishment and Maintenance.

  • S&WB Water Hammer Hazard Mitigation

    Contract Price: $36 million

    Completion Date: November 2018

    Location: New Orleans, LA

    Highlight: Project was completed 1 year and 6 months ahead of schedule and has won many awards for execution and design.

    Major Features of Work: Two water towers were built each with a capacity of 2 million gallons of water along with large diameter steel water lines, valve vaults, hot taps into 72" water lines, deep shored excavations, and structural concrete vaults. The foundation design included a flexible matrix of 12 different pile layout scenarios for accommodating the pile testing work for both tanks.

    Major Features of Work: 165,000 CY Canal and Pipe Excavation and Backfill Work, Split Traffic Construction, 315,120 LF Timber Piles, 3,680 LF HP 14x89 Piles, TRS system – 8516LF of PZ35x65’ and Bracing *Installed and Removed with Press-In Method*, 22,000 CY for Box Culverts, 3,518 LF 8” Waterline, 4,310 LF 24" Sewer line, manholes, and house connections, 4,500 LF of roadway reconstruction, curbing, drain lines, and drain structures, and Fertilizing, Sod - 4 AC.

  • Pump To The River 84" Discharge Pipe and Basin

    Contract Price: $28.8 Million

    Completion Date: February 2017

    Location: Harahan, LA

    Major Features of Work: 50,000 CY Net Section Levee Relocation, approximately 6000 LF of 84" Steel Discharge Pipe, Powerline Drive Roadway Reconstruction, 24" to 36" Drain Line Installation, approximately 1000 CY Concrete Discharge Basin in the Mississippi River, Levee Surfacing and Turf Establishment, and 18" Steel Pipe Pile Installation for Concrete Discharge Basin.

  • SELA 24B - South Claiborne Ave II Covered Canal

    Contract Price: $28.6 Million

    Completion Date: August 2016

    Location: New Orleans, LA

    Highlight: B&K Construction was awarded the 2018 Dan W. Renfro Partnering Award for this project due to the construction excellence and great partnership with USACE.

    Major Features of Work: 47,000 CY of Canal and Roadway Backfill, Split Traffic Construction with Multiple Phases, 162,700 LF Timber Piles, 1,240 LF 12.75" O.D Steel Pipe Piles at Entergy Transmission Line, TRS system – 6800’ of PZC18x57’ and Bracing, 14,400 CY Concrete Placed for 3400' LF of 9' x 18' Box Culvert, Storm Drainage Tie-Ins to New Box Culvert, 15,860 Tons of Asphalt for Roadway Restorations Along South Claiborne Avenue, 7,000 LF of Concrete Curb and Gutter,. New Sidewalks and ADA Handicap Ramps Along South Claiborne Ave and Intersecting Streets, and Turf Establishment for Restored Median Sections Along South Claiborne Avenue.

  • Widening of Florida Ave Canal Phase 1

    Contract Price: $52.6 Million

    Major Features of Work: 50,000 CY Canal and Pipe Excavation and Backfill Work, Split Traffic Construction, 127,500 LF Timber Piles, TRS system – 6700’ of PZ35x75’ and Bracing, 10,650 CY 50 LF wide Canal Flume and Box Culverts, 1,941 LF 48” Waterline, 120’ Jack and Bore under railroad, 1,114 LF 54” S.F.M, 120’ Jack and Bore under railroad, 1,294 LF 72” S.F.M, 120’ Jack and Bore under railroad, and Pile Supported SFM and Water Line Crossings and Tie-ins.

  • Westwego #2 Pump Station

    Contract Price: $16 Million

    Completion Date: August 2011

    Location: Westwego, LA

    Major Features of Work: 16,000 CY Net Section Levee Embankment, floating work platform to install TRS, 3 EA 84” Discharge Pipe Extensions, 150’ long Temporary Work Platform over the existing Discharge Basin, PZ35 60’ long and HP14x89 Temporary Retaining Structures, Construction Dewatering – 12” by-pass pumping, piezometers, and wells, 2500 EA Deep Mixed Columns, 19,780’ of HP14x73 battered piles for floodwall foundation – 75’ to 115’ long, 24,000 SF PZC13 piles, 2280’ of 24” round pipe piles driven from the Temporary Work Platform, 2500 CY Reinforced Concrete T-wall and demolition of 750’ long existing Reinforced Concrete T-wall and pulling 5780’ of 14”x14” concrete foundation piles 85’ long.

  • Lilly Bayou Control Structure Phase II

    Contract Price: $28.7 Million

    Completion Date: July 2011

    Location: East Baton Parish, LA

    Major Features of Work: 55,000 CY Concrete Control Structure, B&K Construction Owned and Operated Concrete Batch Plant, concrete placed and finished with conveyors and Bidwell System, 30' tall radius concrete wall construction, mass excavation - 1.5million CY of dirt, placement of 80,000 TONs of RipRap slope protection, drawdown system included deep wells and piezometers, work was performed next to the KCS Railroad, approximately 100 AC of clearing, and 30" steel drawdown pipe installation.
